An intervention led by a trained professional can be a loving and hopeful experience when done right. It's also highly effective. Close to 90% of individuals we intervene on will go to treatment on the day of the intervention. Having said that, it's not alway necessary or affordable. In many cases, a family has the ability to create change without the presence or expense associated with hiring a professional.
After a 15-20 minute initial call to gather some information, we will gather the support system on a call (video or phone). During this coaching session we will talk about uniting the support group, strategies, boundaries, language and behaviors that can be changed to create willingness in your loved one. If needed, it will be explained how you as a family can sit down with your loved one and conduct your own intervention. We can talk about treatment options to meet the clinical needs of your loved one. Insurance and budget will be a part of this conversation as well. Coaching sessions are $150.

If a professionally led intervention is needed, you as a family will decide that after having received the information to do the family intervention on your own. We will give you everything we can to help you do this on your own before making a decision to bring in a professional.

3. Is doing nothing an option? Are you still at a point where you can "wait and see what happens" or is this a crisis situation?
If the answers to these questions are "no" it would help to get the guidance of an interventionist. We specialize in working with resistant individuals who need professional help but aren't willing to choose it on their own.
Think of an intervention as process rather than as an event. The first stage involves preparing the family, choosing the right treatment experience and coordinating the plan for the intervention and transport to treatment. Next, on the day of the intervention, the interventionist will help everyone involved have a discussion that eliminates barriers and excuses and creates the willingness needed for change. Close to 90% of the time, the individuals we work with will go to treatment on the day of the intervention. The interventionist will normally be the one to transport the client to treatment, not the family members. If the client refuses help at the time of the intervention, there will have a backup plan ready and the interventionist will continue to support the individual and the family in getting them to choose help until that goal is achieved. There is no additional cost if the individual refuses help initially. There is no expiration date on our services. With very few exceptions, we stay engaged until your loved one has received the help they need.
